We are thrilled to continue our summer workshop series for the fourth year!
As temperatures rise in Chicago, so does the frequency of police-youth contact. According to the University of Chicago Youth-Police Contact study, these interactions have historically been overwhelmingly negative, leading to emotional withdrawal and negative impact on a teen’s self esteem.
Our past workshops have been transformative! Organization coordinators report that their youth feel more confident and are less confrontational when stopped by police. By in large, they also avoid arrest and court involvement after attending our workshops.
